Mission Statement:  Friends of Forest Hill Park

MISSION

To preserve, protect, and promote responsible care and use of Forest Hill Park, in cooperation with the staff and leadership of the Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, and to foster wider knowledge, respect, and understanding of one of Richmond’s oldest and most precious public green-spaces.

GOALS

Preserve the Park’s historic buildings, pathways, and roads

Restore and improve the historic plantings (trees, shrubs, flower  gardens)

Establish a playground for young visitors

Prevent damage to the Park’s resources caused by inappropriate uses and uncontrolled development or drainage from sources
outside the Park

Ensure the health and safety of all visitors

Promote responsible use of the Park through public education about the Park’s historic legacy and its value as a civic treasure

Promote education about the Park’s natural resources
